Magaldrate…480 MG, Simethicone…20MG - Magaldrate and simethicone are two medicines that are combined to make up Magaldrate…480 MG, Simethicone…20MG. An inorganic salt called magaldrate balances excess stomach acid. Simethicone is an antifoaming drug that breaks up gas bubbles and facilitates easy gas transit.
A class of drugs known as antacids and anti-ulcers is used including Magaldrate+simethicone for the treatment of acidity, flatulence, indigestion, heartburn, and gas. A mucous layer normally protects the stomach from acid. The mucous layer can sometimes break down as a result of excessive acid production, which causes issues including acidity and heartburn. When the stomach is inflated with gas or air, it becomes swollen.
Take Magaldrate+simethicone with or without food. Based on your medical condition, you are encouraged to take Magaldrate+simethicone for the entire duration of the prescription given by your doctor. You may occasionally have some common side effects like constipation, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Most of these adverse effects gradually go away over time without the need for medical care.
Avoid antacids containing aluminum or magnesium while taking Magaldrate 480 mg and Simethicone 20 mg. Magnesium-containing antacids can result in diarrhea, but taking aluminum-containing antacids together with magaldrate + simethicone can result in constipation and bowel obstruction. If you're expecting or nursing, talk with your doctor. Magaldrate+simethicone should not be given to children because its safety has not been demonstrated.
